CLOSED Trailer, Teaser & Giveaway: Darcy and Fitzwilliam

A couple of days ago, you had the immense pleasure of meeting Karen Wasylowski's incarnation of Lady Catherine de Bourgh.  And wasn't she just a peach.  Today, I wanted to give you a sneak peak of the story in which you can find said Lady, as well as a chance to win a copy for yourself!

But first, I promised you a trailer.

And now for the teaser:

"Darcy, I cannot tell you how badly I feel about this business with Miss Bennet.  If you had but told me of the depth of your feeling for her, I would have backed off.  I would  not have flirted half so much, and I wouldn't have wagged my tongue so carelessly."  Feeling a bit guilty now for his actions Fitzwilliam leaned against the bureau in his cousin's room watching as that man packed the remainder of his clothes.  Worse yet for the colonel's conscience, her refusal had been in part based on his own gossipy revelations regarding the destruction of her beloved sister's romance through Darcy's intervention.
Darcy looked out through his bedroom window, across his aunt Catherine's immense estate, Rosings Park, his intense gaze cast in the direction of the vicarage where Miss Bennet was visiting; reluctantly he returned his attention to his packing.  Her emotional reaction haunted his thoughts.  In her judgement, his very character was wanting to such a degree that she could never marry him, and worse, he was no gentleman.  Her words stung his pride and his honor; her rejection cause him to question values he had regarded as inviolate.
"It's done and over, Fitz."  The solemn young man sighed as he snapped his valise shut and then dragged it from the bed.  "I'm sure I shall survive."  But his eyes were hooded and hollow, his shoulders dropping a little too low for the light weight of his bag.  "This was a bleak Easter visit, though, I must confess."
"Let me go over there one more time and speak with her; she may have returned by now.  I can't help but think that if you were willing to confide in her about Georgiana and Wickham, she must mean a great deal to you."
"Leave it, Richard.  It just wasn't meant to be."

  1. I loved the Lady Catherine piece, referring to the bishop as the vulgar, hairy lady in red - LOL. And I really enjoyed the trailer - so many handsome Darcys. Thanks for the fiveaway.

  2. Love the trailer! You should have heard me chuckle when Ben and Matt showed up ;-) ... I really never gave Fitzwilliam as a character much thought, so this is an interesting perspective on the story!

  3. sounds like a great read...trailer was great!!

  4. thank you for the giveaway!!!
already added onto my ToBeRead list!!!!
why do i want to read it??? WHY NOT?!?!?!? anything to do w/Darcy, that's why!!!!

  5. I'm not even through P&P and I'm already calling myself a new Janeite. I actually just finished reading the part where Lizzie rejects Darcy, so I'd love to read this from his point of view!

  6. Love the trailer... and of course all the nummy Darcys!
I love JAFF where Fitzwilliam plays a larger part in Darcy's life outside of Kent. I've been looking forward to reading this book for some time. So far I've enjoyed all the experts I read online from it. Thanks for the giveaway.

  7. I want this book because it sounds very good. Thanks for the giveaway. Tore923@aol.com

  8. I loved this book! The relationship between D&F is so funny but also very touching, which can also be said for Lady Cat. And the men's marriages are of course romantic but also down to earth and realistic.

I like fics with lots of Col Fitz in them. His part in the original, and in the 95 movie (where I think he was very charming and dashing!) was way too small!

I want to win a copy because I loaned mine to someone and I don't think I will ever see it again.

  9. Karen's captured Lady Catherine to a T. Very good!

A love triste is always an enjoyable read and would love to win this! Thanks!

  10. I'm looking forward to this one because I'm looking forward to learning more about the relationship between Fitzwilliam and Darcy. Thanks for the giveaway!

  13. Fabulous!!! I love all reads Austen related & I know I will just love 'Darcy and Fitzwilliam'.

  14. I think of Darcy and Fitzwilliam as a sort of Regency Butch and Sundance. Maybe with Felix and Oscar from the Odd Couple thrown in. Thanks so much for all your kinds words.

  15. Thank you for the giveaway! As for why do I want to read it well there is two main things. 1) It has Darcy in it so why not? 2) I have never given Fitzwilliam much thought but it would be interesting to see how he interacts with Darcy

  19. I love reading most of Austen-inspired novels. I want to read about Colonel Fitzwilliam because many of Austenesque novels out there focus more on Darcy and Elizabeth.

  20. Well Darcy and Lizzy are in Darcy and Fitzwilliam (that's hard to say fast) and then the Colonel falls in love too. It's about the two men and how they fight like brothers but are there for each other when needed. Thanks for all the kind words

  21. The book sounds great and I do like that the Colonel gets to be in the spotlight too. I always liked him :D

  22. I want to read it because I really love Pride and Prejudice variations and I'd like to learn more about these two characters.

  23. Sounds interesting! I really love Pride and Prejudice so I think I would enjoy this book as well :)
