Giveaway: Fitzwilliam Darcy such as I was by Carol Cromlin

By now, you may recognize the name Carol Cromlin, as she's been a part of this year's Janeite "conversations," from which we've learned that her husband thinks she's rather like Lady Catherine before she's had her coffee in the morning (the nerve!), and that she has a genius plan for a Rake Reform School, if only she can wheedle the start-up costs out of a wealthy patron (pointy knuckle-rapping sticks don't grow on... erm, you know what I mean...).
But she doesn't just want you to know her - she wants you to know her Darcy. So she's offering up a giveaway of her book & swag to a couple of lucky Janeites - click through to enter to win:

Published July 15th 2013 by Worth Saying
Fitzwilliam Darcy is arguably the best known, most charismatic hero Jane Austen ever created but he is also the most unfathomable. Who exactly was Mr. Darcy? What principles guided him? What desires drove him? How did he come to be the character Austen, so vividly, portrayed?

Carol Cromlin offers a window into the private life of this young, landed, Georgian gentleman. Her story presents events during the first eight and twenty years of Fitzwilliam Darcy’s life that shaped his personality and established his character, making him the man who so decidedly won Elizabeth Bennet’s heart, despite her absolute determination against him.

  15. Was he always so awkward with women? That's what I would love to read - more run-ins with the opposite sex as a teenager.

  23. Thank you all, so very much for your enthusiasm about my book and best of luck in the giveaway! You might be interested to know my story did not start out to be a book. I, like many of you, have always wanted to know more about Jane Austen’s enigmatic, Mr. Darcy. There are so many contradictions in his character that I embarked on a quest to learn what the life of a Georgian gentleman would have been like. My days, weeks, and months of collecting and pouring through period reference books, letters and diaries, maps, indentures &c. somehow evolved into Fitzwilliam Darcy such I was. I hope you will read and enjoy my story of Darcy’s life BE (Before Elizabeth) as much as I enjoyed writing it. Again, good luck to all.
