TBR Tuesday: The Bermudez Triangle

Currently languishing on my shelves...

The Bermudez Triangle
by Maureen Johnson

"Their friendship went so far back, it bordered on the Biblical -- in the beginning, there was Nina and Avery and Mel." So says high school senior Nina Bermudez about herself and her two best friends, nicknamed "The Bermudez Triangle" by a jealous wannabe back on Nina's eleventh birthday. But the threesome faces their first separation when Nina goes away the summer before their senior year. And in ten short weeks, everything changes.

Nina returns home bursting with stories about Steve, the quirky yet adorable eco-warrior she fell for hard while away. But when she asks her best friends about their summer romances, an awkward silence follows.

Nina soon learns the shocking truth when she sees Mel and Avery...kissing. Their friendship is rocked by what feels like the ultimate challenge. But it's only the beginning of a sometimes painful, sometimes funny, always gripping journey as three girls discover who they are and what they really want.

I have heard A LOT of great things about this.  And I love Maureen Johnson's style.  AND I need to work more LGBT books into my reading.  All of these reasons means I should read The Bermudez Triangle sooner rather than later.  I feel like it might make a good summery beachy read, so maybe I can sneak it in just after Jane in June?
What do you guys think?  Anyone read this?
What's on your TBR?

  1. I haven't heard about this book before, but after reading this summary I've decided I need to get my hands on this book ASAP! It sounds like it's going to be one fantastic read!

  2. I'm currently reading this. And it's my first Maureen Johnson book.

  3. I've already read this one, and it's really nice. I actually have the same name as Nina Bermudez, one of the characters in that book - that's actually the reason why I picked up a copy of this one. :D

  4. I've read it. It's quite a good read.

  5. I didn't realize the premise of this one because I'd never read the summary that closely before. Now something deep inside of me is stirring and saying, "Waaaaant."

  6. I loved this book. I picked it up a couple of years ago because I was looking for LGBT books and was so happy to read it. The characters and refreshing and so real and I love that its a Teen/YA book because I do think that there should be a representation for teens and young adults out there looking for people and characters to relate too. I also picked up "Empress of the World" by Sara Ryan and "Kissing Kate" by Lauren Myracle. They were also pretty good but Maureen Johnson's book was my fave of those three. Enjoy!!

  7. Haven't heard of this one. Looks good, though. I've also been looking for some good LGBT books. Must give it a try now.

Tell me all your thoughts.
Let's be best friends.
