TBR Tuesday: Falling Under

TBR Tuesday is a way to talk about the books we own but haven't read, see what other people think about them, and help us decide whether to bump it up our list or knock it off completely.
[If you're more a book borrower than a book buyer, you're still welcome to participate with the books that you've been meaning to read and haven't!]

On my TBR

Falling Under by Gwen Hayes
Paranormal, 324 pages
March 1st 2011 from New American Library

Theia Alderson has always led a sheltered life in the small California town of Serendipity Falls. But when a devastatingly handsome boy appears in the halls of her school, Theia knows she's seen Haden before- not around town, but in her dreams.

As the Haden of both the night and the day beckons her closer one moment and pushes her away the next, the only thing Theia knows for sure is that the incredible pull she feels towards him is stronger than her fear.

And when she discovers what Haden truly is, Theia's not sure if she wants to resist him, even if the cost is her soul.

This one was a pure impulse buy (pretty!), but the reviews for it are a really mixed bag.  People seem to love it or hate it - and often, it's the same person doing the loving and the hating... I'm not sure what to make of it, or where to place it in my TBR.  I had considered reading it for this year's Helluva Halloween, but there were more pressing books.  And so it sits.
Have any of you read this?  What do you think, and where should it go in the pile?

What's creeping up your TBR?

  4. I borrowed this one from a friend last summer and tried reading it, but I could barely get through the first few chapters. Maybe I just wasn't in the right mood (I intend on trying to read it again at a later date) but I just didn't like it. The characters were unrealistic and too ready to believe the unbelievable. But again, I didn't get too far so maybe that changes. My friend said she really enjoyed it so I think if you're in the right mood for it (something darker, weird, abnormal, with a very NOT cliche heroine and story line) then pick it up. Otherwise, wait for the right time.
