May Rewind & June TBR!

It's a double video day today, as I try to get all of the month end/begin again housekeeping bits out of the way. So here is a look at what I read in May with my May Rewind, and a look at what I'm hoping to read (but know I probably won't) with my June TBR. I have a number of fun videos I want to do over the next month and then some, and am in the process of planning out the rest of the summer, but if you have suggestions of requests of videos you'd like to see, please let me know!
Now, on to it!

May's was a small, sad pile on the reading front, but that was made up for by the fact that it was an otherwise very fun month! Sometimes the TBR just has to take a hit so that it doesn't get in the way of life, you know?

THE BOOKS:
The Girl at Midnight [review]
Last Man: The Stranger
part of A Blue So Dark
part of The Witch Hunter
2 romances by Noelle Adams (Something something "Billionaire" and something something "Boss" -- the uzh.)

The June stack is probably over-ambitious. No, it's DEFINITELY over-ambitious, but there are just so many good things in the pile that I couldn't bear to cut any of them. Guess we'll see how that goes... ;)

THE BOOKS:
A Blue So Dark
The Witch Hunter
Velvet

For Wednesday YA:
Spell Bound OR The Boyfriend List
Vote on which one we read here and/or here

Silver in the Blood
The Royal Cup
The Divine
The Thrilling Adventures of Lovelace & Babbage
The League of Regrettable Superheroes
The Mystery Writers of America Cookbook
Doodle Lit

And then maybe:
Rebel Mechanics
The Curious Word of Calpurnia Tate
The Heart of Betrayal

  1. I had to laugh about your May slump. My friend had the worst reading month for May and it sort of freaked her out how many books she had to set aside the weren't her, made her mad or even if she finished they were 'meh'. Let's hope June is better for both of you.

Silver in the Blood and Adventures of Lovelace and Babbage look good to me so I look forward to your thoughts on those. The themed cookbook, superhero book and the doodle books all look fun. Good luck!

    1. I think it's all the nice weather. It's sorta like spring fever, when you just CAN'T anymore, and you need to get oooooouuuuuttttttttt. And as I'm sure you know, we've had a really delayed and inconsistent Spring here this year, so I think every little bit of NICE, and we all just want to bust loose! lol

  2. OMG your hair and lipstick match. That's simply magic.
I can't wait to hear how A Blue So Dark was! Yes for more Tea Chat, please. :)
    Life > TBR Pile
Otherwise, there would be no TBR pile concept. Sounds like you had a great vacation, which is totally worth it.

Yep, your June TBR pile is exhaustingly ambitious. You're taking about a month of sunshine and beach time and Marley demands and grilling time...I admire your ambition, but I hope you cut yourself some slack. :)
(that being said, I'm very curious- although willing to wait- to hear how Silver in the Blood is)

    1. Ahh, but here's the thing: I love to read outside. It's my favorite thing in the world. So beach time and sunshine time are not mutually exclusive with reading time. Might be hard to grill and read, though... ;)

And yes, it does match! On camera, at least. I was wearing Too Faced Melted Violet, which is more purple than my hair, BUT because I am so pale, it does come off paler and slightly more pink on me than on most people. And can I just say, I LOVE MATCHING MY LIPSTICK TO MY HAIR. Magical indeed. =D

  3. Good luck with all of those! I've been lucky to even get through two books a month this year. I need to up my game.
