  2. I found it interesting in her interview that the backstory for Slated actually mirrored real events. It means it wasn't far-fetched at all .

  4. I love the premise of this book and I admit I have a thing for dystopian books. And the fact that this books sounds so much different from all the other books I've read lately makes me want to read it even more! I found it interesting that she has taken inspiration in real-life events here in Europe as well.

  11. +JMJ+

Of all the YA Dystopian novels that have come out lately, Slated is the only one that seems to have tapped into the same paranoid vein that George Orwell bled so expertly with Nineteen Eighty-Four. Why wouldn't I want to read it??? =P

    Thanks for the giveaway! =)

  14. I loved the movie Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind and this book reminds me of it. Of course, the plot is completely different but basically you wipe away "bad memories" in both, so this automatically made my tbr list when I saw your rewiev on goodreads.

  17. I'm interested in reading Slated because it makes me wonder if memories are crucial to identity or if the present state of mind is more important.

  18. Okay I admit it -- the first thing that caught my attention about this is the author's name. And if I had the chance to ask her anything, I would probably say, "So... how'd your parents pick the name Teri Terry?"

But the book itself looks really interesting. I find it intriguing that real-world circumstances started sounding familiar AFTER Ms. Terry started working on her book, similar enough that she had to take a break from writing! That sounds like an intense and fascinating book.
