TBR Tuesday: Bad Taste in Boys

Click here to be taken to the Helluva Halloween Main Page!

Most of us have books we've bought with all intentions of reading (or maybe just because it was cheap!), only to have them fade away on a shelf or disappear into a stack of books, never to be seen or thought of again.
TBR Tuesday is a way to talk about the books we own but haven't read, see what other people think about them, and help us decide whether to bump it up our list or knock it off completely.
[If you're more a book borrower than a book buyer, you're still welcome to participate with the books that you've been meaning to read and haven't!]

On my TBR

Bad Taste in Boys by Carrie Harris
Zombies, 201 pages
Published July 12th 2011 by Delacorte Press

Someone's been a very bad zombie.

Kate Grable is horrified to find out that the football coach has given the team steroids. Worse yet, the steroids are having an unexpected effect, turning hot gridiron hunks into mindless flesh-eating zombies. No one is safe--not her cute crush Aaron, not her dorky brother, Jonah . . . not even Kate!

She's got to find an antidote--before her entire high school ends up eating each other. So Kate, her best girlfriend, Rocky, and Aaron stage a frantic battle to save their town. . . and stay hormonally human.

I just recently picked up a signed copy of this from the fabulous Nicola's Books and I thought it would make an appropriate peek into the TBR stack, seeing as it's Helluva Halloween and this is a zombie book.  I have to say, I am in love with this weird little cover.  It's so striking.  I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but there's no denying that it sticks in your delicious, delicious braaaaaaains.  Also, Carrie Harris is a Michigander (not by birth, but now), so she gets points for that.  Anyone read this one?  Love it, hate it, indifferent?

What's haunting your TBR stack?

  1. On my TBR is Girl of Fire and Thorns. The Name of the Star. Jellicoe Road. (I wasn't sure whether to pick that up but your youtube video convinced me!! She's Australian so I should be supportive ;) )

I've read Lola and the Boy Next door and Daughter of Smoke and Bone. You should try Lola and the Boy Next Door if you haven't!

Also, I saw your October TBR has HEX HALL! OMG you should so read that and let us know what you think.

I've only just come onto your blog for the first time, and i have to say you have something good here.

    Best wishes!

  2. The ghosts of series past are haunting my TBR. I'm probably 3 years behind in series I've loved reading, like Stephanie Plum by Janet Evanovich, Sookie Stackhouse by Charlaine Harris, Harry Dresden by Jim Butcher, and In Death by Nora Roberts/JD Robb. I stopped keeping up with them when I quit B&N and went back to school full time, and lately I've been distracted by new authors and genres. I do miss the old characters, but it doesn't help that I can't remember where I was in the storylines!

  3. Is it just me, or do the lips on the cover remind anyone else of a margarita with salt? Probably just me...
