October 2020 TBR

Here's a look at what I read last month when I *said* I would be reading the things I picked in my "Shop My Shelves" video... as well as a stack of potential reads for this month's #30DayBookBinge!

Let me know your thoughts in the comments. What kind of books do you crave in October?

Mentioned:

#30DayBookBinge

Shop My Shelves video

Texas Gothic
Find Me Their Bones
The Bromance Book Club
The Bride
A Rogue of One's Own
Spirit & Dust
Beach Read (maybe)
Mexican Gothic
Something Is Killing the Children
and maybe an audiobook (looking for recommendations!)

  1. Oy, changing your mind isn't a failure. Mood reading is totally a thing! I'm curious to hear how you like Texas Gothic, as it's on my TBR list....same with Mexican Gothic.

I loved Beach Read! There's a lot of fog and storms in it, so....kinda seasonally appropriate? Maybe? It's not as lightly fluffy as one would think from the title. But I attached to the MC hard, early on.

My audiobook rec is always gonna be The Lies of Locke Lamora (everything in that series, but start with the first of course).
Right now I'm reading Jane Steele, which isn't exactly October reading but I am loving it.

  2. I don’t think I am a seasonal reader.

Good grief. My TBR pile is in contestant flux. We are blessed to live in times when we have so much choice. That’s why when I go to book club, they let me come for the wine and don’t hold me to reading the book.

  3. I've been trying to psych myself up for Mexican Gothic. I had fun with Bromance Book Club and Undercover Bromance though they get series, too.

I go with my mood quite often and like spooky or thriller reads in October though I read them all year round. :)
