Book Haul: 8/9/12 (sort of...)

So...this was actually recorded a few weeks ago, and I just hadn't had a chance to edit and upload it. Needless to say, there's been more book acquiring since then...but I'll save that for another day. ;P

These are the books I got sometime between the beginning of July and mid-July.  Let me know what you think if you've read them (or want to), and if you've gone on a shopping spree and found some good books lately, leave me a link or let me know what you got!

  1. I've read Wolves, Boys, and Other Things That Might Kill Me. The title misled me, as I thought it must be paranormal romance with werewolves. It couldn't be farther than the truth. Maybe you don't want to know before you read the book yourself, but I'll say IMHO the new cover refers more to the story than the old one.

As for Willow, I still haven't decided if I liked it or not (which is probably a sign I didn't like it that much). It has merits, but also flaws.

  2. The other cover definitely does skew paranormal, and this one straight up contemporary, so you can see why I was thrown. I think the other was going more for quirky - is the book quirky?
    (keeps fingers crossed).

  3. Well, yes, I guess you could call it peculiar. It's environmentally conscious.

  4. Hmm...the more I hear about this book, the less I know what to expect!

  5. Awesome books this week. YAY Signed copy of Friends With Boys. I really enjoyed that one. I have but have not read, a couple of the other ones. I have read and enjoyed Dust City. So I'll be keeping an eye out for your review, even if it's not until next Fairytale Fortnight. Happy Reading!

  6. Bwahaha, Misty, I love you. You really do just need to stop justifying the book buying, we'll probably all feel better about it. I have the hardcover of Wolves, Boys, and Other Things That Might Kill Me, and I love that cover, but I did also know going in that it's a contemp. I haven't read it yet (I just got it a month or so ago), but hopefully I'll let you know when I do!

Also happy you finally got a copy of Dead Reckoning for yourself-I hope you enjoy!
