Amazon | Goodreads
Fantasy, 272 pages
Expected publication: October 2nd 2012 by Feiwel & Friends
September has longed to return to Fairyland after her first adventure there. And when she finally does, she learns that its inhabitants have been losing their shadows—and their magic—to the world of Fairyland Below. This underworld has a new ruler: Halloween, the Hollow Queen, who is September’s shadow. And Halloween does not want to give Fairyland’s shadows back.
Fans of Valente’s bestselling, first Fairyland book will revel in the lush setting, characters, and language of September’s journey, all brought to life by fine artist Ana Juan. Readers will also welcome back good friends Ell, the Wyverary, and the boy Saturday. But in Fairyland Below, even the best of friends aren’t always what they seem. . . .

ReplyDeleteAhhh so purty!!! I want! Valente's wordplay is so beautiful, man. Like silk. Ear candy...no, brain candy. Yes, I want.
ReplyDeleteThe Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland was my favorite book of 2011. It will be hard to wait until October for this one!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway! I haven't been able to read the first book yet, but the covers and titles make the series look so cool and creative!
ReplyDeleteI've heard such good things about Valente!
ReplyDeleteYay! I LOVE the trailer. Thank you so much for sharing with us. The first book is amazing and I absolutely can not wait to get my hands on the 2nd. Oh, and the cover is just as gorgeous! I absolutely adore Macmillan and all of their authors!

ReplyDeleteholy cow. i've never heard of these, but it looks like absolute perfection. hits all the right spots. the illustration alone is just... wow.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting up the trailer! I absolutely loved the first novel and am looking forward to this second novel =)
ReplyDeleteI saw Cat Valente read from the second Fairyland book while I was in NYC earlier this summer, and I am hooked on her writing. I haven't read either of the Fairyland books yet, but "Deathless" and "Silently and Very Fast" are some of my all-time favorites.
ReplyDeleteReally looking forward to this book! Every story that Cat weaves is absolutely brilliant and spine-tingling awesome. Oh, and that lovely mistress who sings during the trailer? S.J. Tucker? A true Goddess of song, who shares equal love for Cat and her works. Look forward to getting lost in Fairyland again!
ReplyDeleteThe trailers are rockin'. I've been wanting to read the first one for forever, and now that I know there's a second? *pulls book off of shelf* :)
ReplyDeleteThat trailer was great. It is wonderful of you to host such a giveaway. I think I will have to pick these books up for my niece and nephews. They could use something a bit off the Disneypath.
ReplyDeleteI've read bits of the first. Looking forward to reading it through and to its successor.
ReplyDeleteThe trailer is fabulous!!! I've been meaning to start this series for months. So excited to know there is a sequel!!
ReplyDeleteMany Catherynne Valente books are on my wish list. This trailer is so beautiful, I am wishing even harder now.
ReplyDeleteThe trailer is wonderful and she is one of my favorite authors!
ReplyDeleteOoh that's gorgeous, love the song too! Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteI love Cat. Valente and I hope the second book is a great as the first! The trailer was amazing too!
ReplyDeleteI loved the first book, and I'm itchy with excitement for the second!
ReplyDeleteThis series looks amazing. I love the trailer, such simplicity, and yet a wealth of knowledge about the characters and magic of the universe. It gave me chills. Really glad I stumbled on this trailer and giveaway!
ReplyDeleteOk, I don't know why my name showed up as anonymous. Sometimes the Wordpress to Blogger commenting confuses me. Sorry!
ReplyDeleteEEEE so excited!
ReplyDeleteI bought the first of these two books a few weeks ago when I discovered BookCloseouts through your series of hauls! I haven't read it yet cause my TBR pile is out of control but it looks AMAZING and I love the trailer! If I win this I'll be able to share the first book with a friend and read the second book, whee! Thank you for doing this giveaway, Misty. :)
ReplyDeleteOMGSOEXCITED. I love how rich Fairyland is, but also how it doesn't talk down to children. This book really trusts kids. I wish I'd had a book like this when I was September's age. It's brilliant.
ReplyDeleteI really liked the soap lady and the bath house in the first book!
ReplyDeleteCat Valente has this amazing ability to describe the world in such a way that makes you feel like you are really there. Even her "children's books" have such a wide readership because of how wonderful, fun, amazing, creative, and whimsical her stories are.
ReplyDeleteI've read all of her books that I can get my grubby little paws on and I am waiting with baited breath for the next installment of Fairyland.
Gave my copy away so our school library could have one. I would really like to have another plus The Girl Who Fell...which looks as good as the original.
ReplyDeleteI've had this book on my to-read list for quite some time. Thanks for the chance for one of us to win it! :D
ReplyDeleteI thoroughly enjoyed Fairyland and I am really looking forward to the sequel(s)! Thanks for having this giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI apparently flubbed posting a comment with the entry form above, so whoops.
ReplyDeleteThanks for jazzing up my Monday morning with the FAIRYLAND 2 trailer reveal!
I have been meaning to read this book pretty much since it came out. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteGreat trailer! The series looks enchanting for both MG/teens and adults! Definitely on my TBR list!
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Leanne
Thanks for this giveaway. Both trailers are great and I am looking forward to reading both books. I actually checked out the first book from the library but I didn't get a chance to read it before the lending period expired. It would be great to be able to read the books back-to-back.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway! I'm so excited for this book. Fairyland 2 comes out right before my wedding, and I'm excited to go on another adventure with September right before my big day!
ReplyDeleteI wasn't aware that this was going to be a series! I've been meaning to read it for a while now but it's not available locally and I keep forgetting to order it on Amazon...
ReplyDeleteI am such a huge fan of this series!
ReplyDeleteI really like the trailer! I get to enjoy the pictures even more.
ReplyDeleteI really loved the first book and can't wait to see what happens in this one!! I also really like the trailer, I love those illustrations so much : ) Thanks for the giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait to read the first one! Just ordered it!! I honestly really want to live in fairyland...would that be possible....hmmmmm lol!
ReplyDeleteI still haven't read the first one in this series but I'm sure if I won the second I would be motivated to buy a copy of the first and read it. I don't think a e-book will cut it for me on this one.
ReplyDeleteI want it more for the picture than anything else!
Heather
That's such a gorgeous video! I can't wait to start the series (I have about a million books to read first, though... boo! :c )
ReplyDeleteHow am I just finding out about these books? They sound like so much fun. I can't wait to read them and share them with my students.
ReplyDeleteMy son loved the first book! Thanks for a great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteOkay, so that didn't work...'Unknown' is Alyssa Goodnight.
