TBR Tuesday: Halo

Most of us have books we've bought or received with all intentions of reading (or maybe just because it was cheap!), only to have them fade away on a shelf or disappear into a stack of books, never to be seen or thought of again.  Or we have the books that we really want to read, but can never seem to make time for.
TBR Tuesday is a way to talk about the books we own but haven't read, see what other people think about them, and help us decide whether to bump it up our list or knock it off completely.

On my TBR

Alexandra Adornetto

Three angels- Gabriel, the warrior; Ivy, the healer; and Bethany, the youngest and most human- are sent by Heaven to bring good to a world falling under the influence of darkness. They must work hard to conceal their luminous glow, superhuman powers, and, most dangerous of all, their wings, all the while avoiding all human attachments.

Then Bethany meets Xavier Woods, and neither of them is able to resist the attraction between them. Gabriel and Ivy do everything in their power to intervene, but the bond between Xavier and Bethany seems too strong. The angel’s mission is urgent, and dark forces are threatening. Will love ruin Bethany or save her?

Um.... I really don't know about this one.  It inspired some serious cover lust (though the sequel - not so much), but I don't think I've heard anything positive about this one.  I've been hanging onto it and telling myself I would give it a chance, but I'm starting to wonder if that's ever going to happen.  Maybe I should disappear it from my TBR stack(s)?   Have you guys read this one?  Any pos. reviews out there?

What's on your TBR?

  1. I don't think I've seen any positive reviews either actually...I gotta say it really doesn't appeal to me either...maybe it should disappear ;)

  2. I wasn't a fan AT ALL. I would be shocked if you liked it, actually.

  3. Ironically I just finished this book about 15 minutes ago. Personally I liked it quite a bit. It was a lot better than it seemed at first. Of course it may not be your cup of tea but it never hurts to try!

  4. I didn't finish it, but I could kinda tell it wasn't my thing. Didn't appeal to me at all in terms of badass main character.

You should try out at least the first fifty pages. See if it's interesting enough for ya. :)

  5. I have to get this one. I got sent a copy of Hades unsolicited and I feel obligated to read the series =/

  6. Yeah, I haven't heard any positive reviews either on this one. I've been saying the same thing about Fallen and Hush, Hush...somehow I just keep pushing those two off, hmmmmm.

  7. I'm one of the ones who really dug it. But be prepared, it's a slow story. Good but not in any way fast.
