Wishlist Wednesday: Wildwood

Wildwood
Colin Meloy
Expected Publication: August 30, 2011
Balzer & Bray

The first book in the epic middle-grade fantasy series full of magic, wonder, and danger—nothing less than an American Narnia—from Colin Meloy, lead singer of the highly celebrated band the Decemberists, and Carson Ellis, the acclaimed illustrator of the New York Times bestselling The Mysterious Benedict Society

There's not much out there on this one yet (and I can't figure out why, as it's scheduled to come out at the end of this summer...), but pretty much as soon as I heard about it, I was sold.  Love The Decemeberists, and Meloy's songs prove he's a strong storyteller, so I'm curious to see what he does with an actual book.
I'm curious, too, about this "nothing less than an American Narnia" bit...that's a lot to live up to.
What say you?  You guys looking forward to this one?
What's on your wishlist?

  1. I'm diggin' the Wildwood artwork. One of the books that I am really looking forward to on my wishlist is Eyes Like Leaves by Charles de Lint. It's currently out in hardcover but the paperback makes me swoon at it's loveliness. Have to wait until February though.
