Snippet: Becoming Jane Austen, from Shelley

Shelley at Book Fanatic gave us her thoughts on Becoming Jane Austen earlier this week (you may recall the movie version of this book, starring Anne Hathaway and James McAvoy).  Shelly says:
"I'm a huge Jane Austen fan so I loved reading about every detail of her life. It is obvious the author did his homework and gleamed facts from family records and letters to give us this narrative of Jane's life. Those who are not quite as Jane obsessed may find the book too dragged out. But I think this book is a must read for all Jane Austen lovers!"

Also, while I have you here, Library Girl Reads has a couple of Austen books up for grabs in her monthly contest.  Click here to go check it out and potentially win Mr Darcy Broke My Heart or Longbourn's Unexpected Matchmaker (or a non-Jane book, if you are so inclined).

  1. OMG the film broke my heart. But I LOVED it. James McAvoy is terribly dreamy!
